The Epigenetics and Stem Cell Aging Unit (ESCU) within the Translational Gerontology Branch (TGB) at the NIA is at the forefront of groundbreaking research to restore function to aging tissues. By studying stem cell aging, we're working to develop therapies that can extend healthy lifespan and improve quality of life by defining and resetting alterations in the stem cells to restore function to the systems they regulate during aging.
About the position
We are seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to join our collaborative lab environment to pursue the understanding of mechanisms that drive stem cell functional loss, especially those associated with aging. Our team uses intervention studies to mitigate these aging changes and is working to understand how aging interventions such as caloric restriction, NAD supplementation, and reprogramming affect epigenetics, transcription, translation, and functional properties of adult stem cells.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent graduate degree with a preference for those with a strong background in genetic, epigenetic, or proteomic data generation. Must be willing to work in model systems and with patient samples. An openness for collaboration and team science is a must.
