GBLS seeks a qualified candidate to fill the position of Receptionist at the CASLS office. CASLS is a small, supportive neighborhood office with a strong track record of providing legal assistance to low-income, elderly, and immigrant communities in Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington, Belmont, Woburn, and Winchester.
Location: This position is based at 60 Gore Street, Second Floor, East Cambridge, MA 02141 (near the Lechmere T stop). It is an in-person role five days a week.
Hours: 35 hours per week. The schedule will be based on coverage needs and may change over time but will be regular. Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Duties Include
- Answering phones, screening, and directing callers according to protocols.
- Greeting visitors, determining the nature of their business, and providing building access to postal and delivery personnel.
- Assessing initial legal issues and/or eligibility based on geographic and financial criteria for prospective clients contacting CASLS by phone or in person.
- Scheduling interpreters and other appointments for staff upon request.
- Sorting, date-stamping, and distributing incoming mail; stamping and posting outgoing mail.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as updating forms, scanning, copying, and filing.
- Maintaining brochures and flyers in the reception area.
- Making referrals to clients as needed.
- Performing data entry and limited client intakes in our database system.
- Occasionally assisting with training new staff as time permits.
Salary : $950 - $46,000
