About the role The Senior Executive Underwriter typically handles large national loss sensitive accounts/clients. They will engage in greater underwriting collaboration and handle larger accounts and/or more complex risks. Responsibilities include underwriting the Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines. The underwriter will develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within his/her portfolio of accounts. This includes knowledge of the current market penetration of AIGRM products and the development of specific plans to increase portfolio share. They will manage negotiation strategies, make sales calls including cross-cross marketing with other product line underwriters. They will work with internal partners including claims, risk consulting, audit, and credit. This position will provide the opportunity work with our broker partners and identify AIGRM’s risk appetite and value proposition while coordinating key support and collaborating with our key AIG distribution personnel. The position will allow the underwriter to evaluate and select new business opportunities that will allow them to manage and direct the deal structure, terms, and services that meet the needs of these prospects. The underwriter will drive internal discussions on pricing, deal structure, and terms while negotiating externally with broker and clients. The underwriter will be responsible for developing long term relationships with brokers and clients through stewardship meetings and events while managing a profitable renewal portfolio. TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Advanced working knowledge of US Casualty lines of business (Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability) including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks, etc. Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience. Very strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated and results-oriented. Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions. Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
