Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Superintendent/Project Manager to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion specializing in drywall and paint on large commercial multifamily projects. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving project success through meticulous planning, coordination, and supervision. You will be the key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and execution throughout all phases of construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety standards
- Manage project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to deliver quality work on time
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software to monitor progress and adjust plans proactively
- Oversee site operations, including supervising construction activities, enforcing OSHA safety regulations, and maintaining a safe work environment
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications
- Prepare and manage contracts, change orders, budgets, and cost estimates utilizing Construction estimating tools like HeavyBid or equivalent
- Conduct regular site inspections for quality control, progress tracking, and compliance with project specifications
- Utilize tools such as ProCore and Bluebeam for documentation management, RFIs (Request for Information), submittals, and project communication
- Read and interpret technical schematics and electrical/mechanical measurements using instruments like an ohmmeter or other testing devices
- Maintain detailed records of project activities, safety incidents, inspections, and progress reports
Skills
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects
- Expertise in Primavera P6 or Primavera P3 for project scheduling; familiarity with construction management software like ProCore and Bluebeam
- Deep understanding of contracts management and construction estimating processes
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for maintaining a safe construction site
- Excellent blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret schematics accurately
- Skilled in budgeting, cost control, and managing project financials effectively
- Demonstrated leadership in supervising teams and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics; experience with electrical testing equipment such as an ohmmeter is a plus
- Familiarity with pipeline construction processes is advantageous but not mandatory
