JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Pharmacy Technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures.
Essential Functions

- Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual.
- Performs essential duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed
- Assist with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of pharmacy services
- Orders pharmacy supplies and medications
- Assist with oversight of budgets, management of expenses, and inventory control
- Participate in protocol and policy and procedure development
- Ensures pharmacy is adhering to 340b Drug Pricing Program rules
- Continuously evaluate pharmacy activities to ensure quality patient care, effective staff relations, efficient customer services and to improve pharmacy program performance metrics
- Other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This position requires frequent standing and walking to storage shelves and filling counters to fill prescriptions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes is also required. This position is moderately active and requires standing and walking for the duration of the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience: Prefer 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician. 3 years’ experience with third party billing very helpful, as is experience with electronic medical records. Management or Pharmacy business experience in a small to mid-sized company preferred. Experience with 340b programs, Pioneer RX is preferred.
- Education: Valid Washington state Pharmacy Technician license.
- Other Skills: Above average computer user skills required.

- Has ability to move 25-50 lb. items, able to stand for extended periods of time, and manage stress.
- Uses “Sacred Hospitality” in serving patients and peers.
- Can successfully pass a criminal background check, OIG check and a pre-employment UA/BA.
