The Nuclear Worker Technician performs specifically assigned duties relative to the following:
- Nuclear Material handling operations, transfers, dismantling, examining, and testing.
- Operation and maintenance of the product line equipment required for receipt, discharge, loading, examination, testing, dismantling, or refurbishment of nuclear components and associated hardware.
- Cask handling operations, cask preparation for nuclear material removal, transfer, discharge, loading, preparation, and shipment.
- Operation of equipment required for cask receipt, discharge, loading, and shipment.
- Installation and removal of equipment, components, and waste to support nuclear product line activities.
Technicians are required to perform continuous training and successfully pass numerous written and practical exams to validate required knowledge and abilities. They must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, ownership, and courage in their work, with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Two years post high school education from an accredited college or vocational school; or equivalent relevant training.
OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience in a mechanical field or nuclear material handling.
OR
- 2 years NNPP experience.
- Professional experience in equipment operation and maintenance
- Education and/or experience in a mechanical field
- Education and/or experience in nuclear material handling
