What are the responsibilities and job description for the Damage Prevention Specialist position at Navigator Energy Services?
Job Purpose/Summary:
Primary support of Lands & Right-of-Way (ROW) services to Navigator regional pipeline and facility operations personnel While building strong collaborative relationships and resolving landowner concerns and inquires is critical to the success of our pipelines. Individual will also plan and execute activities around NES Damage Prevention, and Public Awareness programs.
Essential Job Duties:
- Investigate land related concerns (such as damage claims, encroachment/land use monitoring, contamination/reclamation activities, drainage improvements etc.) to resolve and administer compensation settlements resulting from construction and maintenance activities. Follows up on lands related concerns by coordinating between landowners and NES Management.
- Coordinate land activities with various internal and external stakeholder groups such as Operations, Engineering & Construction, Commercial, and Finance.
- Support NES Maintenance and/or Emergency events, by providing timely landowner notifications
- Monitor third-party risks, damages, and unauthorized activities.
- Support operations teams to identify threat areas and implementation of mitigation efforts.
- Analyze and track metrics as it relates to pipeline safety to identify trends and develop action plans.
- Assist with coordination of public awareness liaison meetings.
- Coordinate ROW maintenance activities along assets as needed
- Manage the execution of damage prevention and maintenance activities: aerial patrols, leak detection surveys; and other monitoring activities as required.
- Monitor performance of Damage Prevention, and Public Awareness, identify areas for improvement and implement changes to ensure compliance with governing regulations and internal procedures.
- Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in land management/administration or related discipline and/or equivalent years of post-secondary education and directly related industry experience.
- Fully qualified land professional with a minimum of three years of related right-of-way experience
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specifically focusing on D.O.T. 49 CFR Part 195
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively within and across the NES Organization.
- Experience with applicable environmental regulations, along with Federal and State regulations,
- Self-starter and motivated learner that can work both independently with minimum supervision and within a collective group to support project requirements
- Experience with Microsoft office suite applications
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, problem solving, and critical thinking.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Expertise in influencing and negotiating in sensitive situations.
- Experience interfacing with individuals inside and outside the company, e.g., public officials, regulators, engineers, business professionals, contractors, and others.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
