Job Title: Assistant Project Director

Part Time Position - 30% effort - 11.25 hours per week

Salary Range for 11.25 hours per week - $18,000 - $21,000  per year

General Description: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Ian David Aronson, Ph.D., the Assistant Project Director will coordinate the activities of a large research project designed to encourage participants to protect themselves and others from overdose. The project is in the Center for Technology-based Education and Community Health at NDRI-USA and is funded by NIH/NIDA.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Principal Investigator to oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting of results via conference presentations and journal publications.
• Coordinate data sharing following NIDA HEAL grant requirements.
• Assist with managing overall grant efforts, optimizing grant outcomes, preparing project plans and reports, ensuring compliance with grant and IRB regulations, and developing a high-functioning team.
• Help the Principal Investigator coordinate the work of vendors and consultants to develop and maintain the project’s technology-based intervention, databases, and related materials.
• Coordinate with staff and community partners to ensure data collection sites are staffed and all technology/computer systems are functioning
• Manage the project and deliverables based on the funder guidelines by identifying processes, deadlines, and milestones.
• Work with all internal and external partners to communicate the goals and outcomes of the project.
• Assist with and submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required by the funder's required deadlines.
• Develop and contribute to publications and conference presentations based on study data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Qualifications and Experience: 

• A master’s degree in social and behavioral sciences or a related field is required. PhD preferred.
• Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research.
• Advanced writing skills required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work onsite in various parts of New York City at the direction of study leadership.
• Experience working with people who use drugs.
• Lived or living experience with substance use and/or the criminal justice system are also desired.
• Spanish language skills are strongly desired.
• Highly organized and systematic, with attention to detail. Able to work independently with an aptitude for multi-tasking and managing multiple projects.
• Collaborative work style with eagerness to continually learn and grow.
