JOB SUMMARY: The Welder/Fabricator Tech is responsible for welding and fabricating metal components according to specifications and blueprints. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of welding techniques.
SCOPE OF DUTIES: The purpose of this job description is to communicate the responsibilities and duties associated with the position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding on various metals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine welding requirements.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components.
- Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.
- Operate welding and fabricating equipment such as bandsaws, press breaks, punches, drills, rollers, oxi-acetylene torches, plasma torches, and various welding machines safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and test welded joints for durability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Weld to the AWS D1.1 Structural standard. Onsite training is provided for welders that show promise regardless of whether they currently hold certifications or not. Although this is primarily a shop position, there will be occasions in which fieldwork becomes necessary.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification in welding preferred.
- Minimum six (6) months of welding and fabrication experience.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures
- Able to communicate effectively using both verbal and written platforms with co-workers.

- Work Environments:
Work will be completed both indoor and outdoor throughout the year; in all types of climates.
- Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/carry 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and/or work on elevated structures.
