What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Enrichment Administrator position at Neighborhood Alliance?
Position Summary: The Child Enrichment Administrator is responsible for the development, coordination, planning, administration, supervision and delivery of the Early Childhood Educational programming that is fully integrated into the Neighborhood Alliance’ mission as well as the strategic and operating plans. The director must have experience and knowledge of Ohio Department of Job and Families Child Care licensing regulations along with Step-Up to Quality.
This is a full-time year-round exempt level position located at our Child Enrichment Services of Lorain branch.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Child Enrichment Administrator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Child Care facility under his or her supervision. This includes supervising staff and working in conjunction with various other program directors throughout the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains staff/child ratio as set up by the Director of Child Development and the State of Ohio Licensing Regulations.
- Follows and ensures compliance with Step Up to Quality mandates.
- Ensures compliance to all health and safety requirements as described in the Neighborhood Alliance Child Care Risk Management guidelines and the State of Ohio Child Care regulations.
- Directs all aspects of the Educational programming, including supervision, coordination, promotion, parent relation, community relations, curriculum, scheduling, enrollment and evaluation.
- Develops, maintains and implements programs that support and promote cognitive, social and emotional development of the program participants.
- Trains, supervises, evaluates and mentors all Child Care staff members. Ensures staff members are current on their credentialing/training requirements.
- Successfully meets budget objectives. Oversees weekly billing and payments for the child care center.
- Controls enrollment of the program including conducting child care orientation and interviews.
- Monitors rooms and equipment for safety and purchase new equipment and material as needed.
- Maintains necessary reports and statistical data as required for program management, licensing and the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Ensures all program operation is consistent with Neighborhood Alliance’s procedures including emergency procedures, insurance, accidents, purchasing, personnel and ODJFS Swipe system.
- Develops resources to expand program and enhance family involvement.
- Actively participate in all training sessions, designated staff meetings and special events.
- Maintains updated CPR/First Aid, Recognition and Prevention of Child Abuse and Management of Communicable Diseases training.
- Understands and has knowledge of children, their behavior and child development.
- All other tasks and responsibilities as assigned my management.
Additional Job Functions:
- Identifies needs and potential issues of the Center and brings these to the attention of administration
- Assists in addressing issues as needed * Maintains the security, maintenance, and safety of the building and grounds.
- Completes and maintains employee related files
- Reviews payroll and makes adjustments as indicated on the Time Card Adjustment Sheet
Necessary Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
- Must be able to meet ODJFS Administrator requirements.
- Experience and knowledge of Ohio Department of Job and Families Child Care licensing regulations along with Step-Up to Quality.
- Two (2) years direct experience working with children under the age of five (5) years.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a child care program.
- Previous experience in developing, organizing, promoting and directing child care programs and services.
- Knowledge of early childhood teaching practices.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
- Computer literacy in the use of Windows-based programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse prevention and Management of Communicable Disease training.
- Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field: 2 years.
- Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills.
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Access to a vehicle, must have and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License
- Warm and friendly personality and willingness to interact with others.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
