Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Trainer is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing the training of staff in the Behavioral Health Department, and providing support to behavioral health clinical staff, as well as serving patients as a behavioral health clinician.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Assesses the training needs of the behavioral health department; coordinate with the Quality department to determine areas of need of training.

Develop curriculum with Behavioral Health Managers and provide training and support to behavioral health clinical staff.

Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

Completes skills and knowledge competency evaluations with staff through observation.

Oversees CFT Clinical Competencies and is the trainers for CFT training.

Performs medical necessity documentation reviews and trainings.

Sign off on documentation of clinical staff as needed.

Execute training identified on retraining plans as directed by leadership.

Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.

Provides direct clinical services including, but not limited to, family centered outpatient clinical services, interventions as determined by treatment plans, family and patient assessment and counseling, and develops, implements, and tracks progress of treatment plans.

Maintains updated knowledge of and utilizes community resources.

Initiates discharge planning.

Reviews and audits patient charts to assess quality and adherence to clinical practice guidelines.

Facilitate development of behavioral/mental health clinical protocols, treatment approaches and therapeutic techniques.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent NOAH in the community.

Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities, etc.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code and professional code of ethics.

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Detail-oriented and professional.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.

Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
-
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or related field required.

Licensed as Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family, or Substance Abuse Counselor designation required.

Registered as Clinical Supervisor on Arizona Board of Behavioral Health within 90 days of hire

Active Arizona Behavioral Health License required.
-
3 years in behavioral or mental health counseling required.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
Other Requirements:

New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).

Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
