What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Neighborhood Preschool?

Neighborhood Preschool is a private non-profit play based daycare that focuses on social and emotional learning and development affiliated with Wesleyan University. We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to work in one of our Infant/Toddler classrooms at our brand new school. Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or High School Diploma with experience in related field

Personal:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work with staff of varying educational and experiential backgrounds and the ability to work with parents and students in the classroom setting.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of and strong liking for children, and awareness of what constitutes a sound education program for young children.
  • Ability to create a feeling of community within the work setting and to model desired behavior of interacting with children, families, and staff.
  • Active pursuit of opportunities for professional development.

General Responsibilities:

  • Insure the program is in accordance with OEC policies and philosophy of the school.
  • Responsible for preparing or delegating preparation of classroom curriculum and clean up.
  • Must maintain prompt hours and keep a neat and clean appearance, which is suitable for playing on the floor with children.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly attitude toward parents and teat all children with dignity and respect

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our NPS families and staff safe, we are wearing masks, practicing social distancing and have enhanced cleaning/hand washing protocols in place. We also follow all guidelines set by the CT OEC and CDC.
