We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The position will be required to work daily at our office in Hayward, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records for multiple entities, handling accounts payable and billing, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate financial records for multiple entities using QuickBooks Online, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee the full accounts payable process, including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor account reconciliation.
- Billing and Invoicing: Manage the preparation, issuance, and tracking of client invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing processes.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing tax documents, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and collaborating with external tax professionals as needed.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Budget Support: Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, providing insights into financial performance and variances.
- Audit Preparation: Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity bookkeeping.
- QuickBooks Online proficiency (required); experience with other accounting software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, billing, and general ledger processes.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and other applications.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus but not required.
