(NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain pharmaceutical experience in the world of CMC product development. Our intern program offers exposure to method development, formulation development, and physical characterization opportunities. The early product development team has extensive pharmaceutical drug development expertise as well as a strong reputation in the industry for supporting the development of pre-clinical and clinical drug candidates. _ Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to): Perform hands-on preformulation and material science studies such as physical characterizations, pKa and logP determination, solubility, stability, powder flow properties, preclinical formulation support, and polymorph/salt screens Prepare buffers, mobile phase, vehicles, and other reagents Assist in maintenance of laboratory equipment Ensure lab notebooks are accurate and in compliance with standards established for regulatory notebook submissions Organize and document data into reports via Microsoft Excel and Word Collaborate with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class Complete a special project and present the recommendations to senior management upon completion Requirements: Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or a related field Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required Completion of 2 or more upper division laboratory courses (Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Physical Chemistry preferred) Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to think creatively and be a team player Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program Lab Work Requirements: Full-time Neurocrine Biosciences is an EEO/AA/Disability/Vets employer.
