(*in collaboration with AbbVie) About the Role: Responsible for carrying out engineering focused research and tasks necessary to develop chemical processes and support scale up and manufacturing of small molecule drug substances. _ Your contributions (include, but limited to): Execute engineering research for chemical process development, scale-up, and manufacturing of small molecule drug substances Provide engineering support to Chemical Development department Design and execute activities for Chemical Development projects from preclinical through commercial stages Perform engineering-focused process R&D including thermal hazard analysis, crystallization, flow chemistry, and DOE Support kilo-lab operations and maintain chemical development instrumentation Document R&D work and support off-site synthesis and manufacturing activities Ensure laboratory safety Requirements: BS/BA in chemical engineering or similar with 4+ years in pharmaceutical/process development OR MS/MA in chemical engineering or similar with 3+ years’ experience OR PhD in chemical engineering or similar with 2+ years industry experience Must be able to build excellent working relationships & maintain confidentiality Laboratory equipment/tools proficiency Strong scientific and engineering knowledge Computer skills and problem-solving ability Detail-oriented with project management capabilities Effective communication and presentation skills Preferred: cGMP manufacturing knowledge Drug substance process development experience Mechanical inclination

Salary : $109,000 - $157,000
