What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Tech for ASC - No Nights No Call No Weekends position at Neurosurgical & Spine Institute ASC?
Looking for an energetic surgical technician to join our team! Flexible position available in a high-paced single-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Daily Responsibilities include:
- Conducts daily tests in instrument room upon arrival.
- Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians' preference cards.
- Inspects equipment for proper working conditions.
- Scrubs for assigned procedures, passing instrumrnts and assisting surgeons during procedures.
- Arranges instruments according to given procedure.Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room practices.
- Correctly uses, cares for, cleans and sterilizes all instruments, supplies and equipment as directed.
- Assists in clean up of rooms between procedures and at end of schedule.
- Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety.
- Reports any unusual occurences, breaks in technique, malfunctioning equipment and unsafe conditions or potential hazards.
- Acts appropriately in emergency situations by notifying and assisting other clinical personnel.
- Maintains and updates surgeons' preference cards as needed.
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certification
- Completion of surgical scrub tech course (ORT certification preferred)
- Operating room experience (two-years preferred)
- Current BLS (ACLS preferred)
