New Day Office is a thirty-six-year-old commercial interiors firm, headquartered in Hampton Roads, with an inspiring culture where the staff is on mission together and the client is highly respected. We are seeking a full-time Interior Designer in Suffolk, VA. The ideal candidate is passionate about designing creative solutions and working with clients, architecture and design firms, and our internal team in a fun, fast-paced environment.
This team member must be a customer service and solutions-oriented professional that is self-motivated, detail oriented, and well organized. The candidate must also have strong written and verbal communication and excellent time management skills. Experience with AutoCad, CET Designer, ProjectMatrix, and Microsoft Office is desired. Candidate must have the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and take ownership for assignment results and details.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Specify and price furniture in corporate, government, education, and healthcare market segments
- Space plan to code
- Produce plans and renderings
- Create detailed specifications including final finish selections
- Work with team to see project through installation
- Travel to client sites
Candidate must possess a professional degree in Interior Design. Experience with a commercial furniture dealership is preferred but is not required. Candidate must have a satisfactory driving record and be able to pass pre-employment drug testing as well as background checks to maintain access to military bases and client sites.
