JOB SUMMARY:
The Coordinator for Health and Wellness provides administrative and programmatic support for NEC’s Health and Wellness Center. The Coordinator assists with the daily operational and programmatic activities necessary to sustain the Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: client and clinician scheduling, management of incoming phone calls and emails, management of students’ electronic medical record, and the facilitation of health and wellness themed programs and initiatives. The Coordinator for Health and Wellness is a full-time, ten-month professional position that reports directly to the Dean of Students and Campus Life.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as NEC’s liaison to the Tufts Collegiate Center for Wellness
- Serve as a case manager for students of concern
- Serve as the initial point of contact for students, families, staff, and other members of the NEC community at the NEC Health and Wellness Center
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests for appropriate appointments or referral to Collegiate Center for Wellness
- Provide information about accessing counseling services to students, parents, and members of the NEC community
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy policies and explain protocols to students, families, and staff
- Review student health record for compliance with College and Commonwealth pre-matriculation immunization/health form requirements, document information received, notify student of requirements
- Maintain student immunization records
- Monitor Health and Wellness holds on student accounts and update student status for holds or waivers when documentation is reviewed
- Work collaboratively with the Office of Academic and Student Affairs to assist to students in processes and procedures, including leaves of absence, disability support services, and academic accommodations
- Work collaboratively with the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the Counseling Center team, and campus partners to create and facilitate health and wellness themed programs and initiatives
- Serve as a member of NEC’s CARE Team
- Monitor departmental budget, prepare invoices, and monthly reports and budget documents
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, or Education preferred
- Three to five years of experience in a higher education setting, an outpatient office setting, or clinician's office
- A student-centered approach to the work

- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent administrative, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
- Proficient with Microsoft office, Word and Excel, Google Suite
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA-related compliance requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially when dealing with medical records
- Ability to manage projects, delegate tasks, and provide excellent customer service
