What are the responsibilities and job description for the Immigration Attorney position at New Frontier Immigration Law?

Why Us

Are you ready to join one of the fastest-growing law firms in the US, where incredible opportunities await? As a Family-based Immigration Attorney, you will lead a team that is committed to excellence, client satisfaction, and continuous growth. Here, we don’t just offer a job: we provide an environment that challenges you to become the best version of yourself.

Why Not Us

This is not a remote or WFH job. We charge on the high end for immigration legal services in AZ. We are fast-growing, international team, which means we have not perfected our systems and procedures. This can be stressful and chaotic to attorneys who are not used to handling a high volume of AOS, 601, and CP cases. We work in an assembly-line style, so your daily functions are overseeing the legal production, training team members, holding them accountable, and speaking with clients. You are the attorney, but you are not doing all the legal work. To succeed in this role, you must enjoy personal development, team building, delegation, sales, customer service, and project management more than you enjoy the act of lawyering.

Role Objective

Our Family-based Immigration Attorney plays an integral part of the legal team, providing exceptional legal representation, advocacy, and customer service for immigration clients seeking family-based relief (AOS/CP, 601/601a waivers, green card renewal, DACA renewal, and NATZ). Their responsibilities include maintaining a high standard of legal service, overseeing case management, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the firm’s strategic objectives. They collaborate with the Managing Attorney to help grow the legal team’s legal knowledge, especially of new immigration trends and effective strategies for success. This role requires an innovative approach to solving complex problems, which will be essential to establishing the Firm as the premiere immigration legal services provider in the US.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manage and oversee a substantial caseload of immigration cases from inception to resolution, ensuring the filing of 10-15 cases per week with precision.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analyze case facts to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Represent clients in USCIS interviews and occasionally bond hearings.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients, breaking down complex issues into understandable terms.
  • Liaise with government representatives (USCIS, Senators, Ombudsmen) to effectively advocate for clients and navigate the immigration process.
  • Stay informed on the latest legal developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to case strategies and client counsel.
  • Actively participate and lead Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) to continuously enhance your legal knowledge and skills and the firm's.
  • Play a key role in mentoring and supervising Associate Attorneys and paralegals, guiding them in legal processes and firm practices.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership in strategic planning and enhancing operational efficiencies, including the development of SOPs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics in all interactions, ensuring meticulous case file management using FileVine.

Requirements

  • Positive, optimistic attitude.
  • Active law license to practice law in the US.
  • Minimum 5 years of family-based immigration law experience.
  • Proven track record of managing a high volume of cases efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong mentoring, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Innovative mindset with a results-oriented approach.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

KPIs

  • Successfully review and complete the filing for 10-15 cases per week.
  • Achieve a case success rate of 90% or higher.
  • Mentor and improve the performance of at least two Associate Attorneys annually.
  • Contribute to at least two internal training sessions or SOP development initiatives per year.
  • Maintain client satisfaction scores at 95% or above.

Compensation

  • 105,000-125,000k/year DOE.
  • 5 weeks PTO/year.
  • Health, eye, dental.
  • Paid training opportunities (legal and leadership).
  • Bar membership, CLEs, AILA, malpractice, and WestLaw are covered.
