What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Groundskeeper position at New Hampshire Fisher Cats?
The NH Fisher Cats Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a hard working, dependable, motivated individual to help us put together the top playing surface in the Eastern League. This role is perfect for someone who loves plants and sports, and also thrives in a fast paced environment. Here at Delta Dental Stadium the goal is to develop the next generation of top turf managers. In this role as the Assistant, you will work hand in hand with the Head Groundskeeper, learning everything it takes to run a professional baseball field.
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Managing and scheduling part time crew
- Mowing of playing surface
- Chemical applications to playing surface and other areas
- Pre game preparation and post game repairs
- Repair to pitching mounds, home plate, and other dirt areas
- Set up and tear down of batting practice
- Rebuilding edges
- Warning track maintenance
- Shop maintenance
- Tarp pulls
- Other duties as assigned
About you:
- Must be dependable
- Must be able to work long hours
- Must be willing to work days, nights, and weekends
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Turf experience a plus but not required
- Must have a great attitude and be a team player
