The Environmental Management Department seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a bulldozer and other various heavy equipment in a landfill environment. The successful candidate will be an experienced bulldozer heavy equipment operator. Grading experience is strongly preferred. Good organizational skills, ability to be a self-starter, and a positive attitude is a must. Additional requirements include experience in the operation landfill compactors, excavators, articulated dump trucks, front-end loaders, and motor graders.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Clean sites and remove debris
- Perform complex, regular preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment requiring welding parts, fabrication and equipment mechanical knowledge and skills
- Provide continuous customer service
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level and perform work during emergency/disaster events.

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Must be available to report for emergency work assignment during emergency situations.

Salary Information:
The hiring range for this position is $33,409 - $44,221. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and one year of related equipment operation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Bulldozer operation experience required.
