Job Summary
The House Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sober living home (SLH). Ensuring a positive, safe, structured living environment and supporting members in their recovery journey. We are seeking a compassionate House Manager who embodies integrity and upholds high standards in all aspects of their role. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a strong commitment to maintaining a sober living environment and fostering a peaceful atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily activities and interactions of members.
- Enforce house rules and address any violations promptly and fairly.
- Conduct weekly house meetings to discuss concerns, progress, and any updates.
- Provide support and guidance to members, helping them stay on track with their recovery plans.
- Ensure the house is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Assist with the intake process for new members, including orientation and Sobriety Hub.
- Takes care of discharges and documentation.
- Make sure curfews are being met.
- Coordinate visitations of family, case managers, etc. with members of the program.
- Monitor and document members’ progress and compliance with house rules.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly checklist to the Operations Manager or designee.
- Keep record of admissions, discharges, drug test results, medications, in Sobriety Hub software.
- Enforce requirements for members and visitors related to parking, noise, smoking, cleanliness, and loitering around the sober living home.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to protect the health and safety of members.
- Conduct drug testing/breathalyzer at admission and random drug and alcohol testing for accountability.
- Ensure that members understand and comply with the prohibition of alcohol and illicit drugs on and off the premises.
- Facilitate members receiving medication-assisted treatment on how to store their medication.
- Provide Narcan training via video and ensure its availability and proper storage.
- Facilitate Commitment to Recovery Plan, once a month with member.
- Refer members to external services to support sobriety as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of any incidents, complaints, and actions taken.
- Respond to members' complaints promptly and fairly.
- Plan for termination of program when services are no longer needed, assisting members in finding other housing. (if applicable)
- Coordinate the relocation of members to other sober living homes or healthcare institutions if needed.
- Ensure a smooth transition for members leaving the sober living home.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Must live (be a resident) on-site at the sober living home.
- Must have maintained sobriety for at least 1 year, free from all drugs and alcohol.
- Pass initial UA and breathalyzer tests, with random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment for accountability.
- Documentation of current CPR/First Aid and Narcan certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks.
- Have a current sponsor and working a 12-step program, preferably.
This role is essential for creating a nurturing atmosphere where members of the program can thrive while receiving the support they need for their personal growth and development during their recovery journey.
- Receive a $ 100 bonus after your first 90 days of employment.
- $25 gas or bus card provided weekly.
- Education reimbursement if you do not hold a current CPR, First-Aid, and Narcan Certification.
- The duties for this position are performed while living at the facility during your employment. This position is ideal for someone who attends online college courses or would like to get a part-time job on the side, as it provides time to do so at your leisure.
- The compensation for this position is free rent, utilities, internet, on-site laundry and your own private bedroom.
