SUMMARY: The Process Engineer Intern assists with optimizing manufacturing systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support projects in assigned area to help reduce costs and improve absolute efficiency.
- Work with operations team to facilitate improvements in production rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs.
- Lead development, training, and start-up of new projects.
- Coordinate area continuous improvement efforts (i.e. 90-day teams).
- Support shutdown planning and activities.
- Monitor and report on daily quality parameters.
- Coordinate and lead customer trial efforts.
- Coordinate and assist chemical vendor trials.
- Champion the area IT-based systems (i.e. PI, Proficy, Cognex, PacSim).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum freshman in chemical engineering or a related discipline with some work experience in a process industry.
- Good analytical and project management skills.
- Good communication skills, including verbal, written & presentation.
- Good relationship and leadership skills, including ability to convey technical information to non-technical users clearly and concisely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think “outside the box”.
- Proficient use of standard engineering software and analysis tools.
- Highly organized, good attention to detail and uses efficient work methods.
- Ability to travel to US locations (travel <10%)
