Bar Lead

New Land Hospitality Group is hiring a Bar Lead position for our quickly growing hospitality company based in Milwaukee, WI.  Bar Lead positions are available at Canopy Bar, a new private bar available to the residents of the luxurious high-rise Ascent building; as well as Shanghai Speakeasy, accessible through Black Cat Alley.  Bar Leads are the ambassadors to each brand by providing an exceptional experience for guests through their leadership in excellent customer service, sales, teamwork, and menu execution.

Core Skills and Qualifications

Required

• 3 years bartending experience
• Valid bartenders license
• Knowledge of craft cocktails, classic cocktails, beer, and wine
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with both colleagues and guests through excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must set and execute high standards for bar staff

Preferred

• Experience working events such as catering and private parties

Job Duties, including but not limited to:

• Ability to lead the team in setting and executing high standards in the following areas:
  • Ability to follow recipes to complete necessary prep for cocktail menu upkeep (i.e. juices, syrups, batches, tinctures, garnishes, etc)
  • Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to the menu
  • Focusing on excellent customer service; including welcoming and greeting guests, being available to guests, and anticipating guest needs
  • Completing opening and closing duties
  • Completing checklists and side-work throughout shift as assigned by supervisor
  • Ringing in all orders through the POS system and cash handling
  • Using free time to clean and organize behind the bar, maintain the bar top and seating, and wipe down tables – paying close attention to the guest perspective
  • Upholding the integrity of the beverage program with a high level of knowledge on brand standards, technique, and expectations in craft beverage service

• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
