Overview:
Clinical Coordinators Dental Assistants are responsible for assisting the doctor in the clinical treatment of patients, supporting the four functions of the clinical space (scan and records, surgery, prosthetic, and laboratory), training, inventory management, records keeping, and maintenance of the clinical workspace. This includes tasks such as preparing patients, sterilizing and disinfecting instrumentation, setting instrument trays, preparing materials, taking X-rays, completing paperwork, ordering supplies, completing maintenance protocols, maintaining the clinical work environment, completing returns and acquiring refunds, managing clinical inventory, and assisting the dentist during dental procedures. Clinical Coordinators encompass the roles and responsibilities of a dental assistant including support during scan and records, surgery, prosthetic, and in-house laboratory workflow.
Assisting in the clinical operations of the practice.
- General Assisting - Sterilization, patient interaction, making notes, etc.
- Prosthetics - Work with the doctor and team to help deliver full mouth cases while scanning the patient in preparation for restoration fabrication.
- Laboratory - Work in the lab to fabricate and characterize the restorations.
- Surgery - Assist in the surgery set up and during treatment. Help with the surgical workflow and assist the anesthesia provider.
- Scan and Records - Complete patient consents and digital scans for the patients.
- Invintory - Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed.
