What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barn Manager position at New York Equestrian Center?
YOU MUST HAVE PRIOR EQUINE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE TO APPLY.
To oversee and manage daily operations throughout the seasons and seasonal changes. Job entails a hands-on management of the facilities and staff, and is expected to run each department/program in an efficient, profitable and customer-oriented manner. To keep all barn horses in good working condition and care for the needs of the boarder horses as obligated in boarder agreement. To maintain a level of professionalism with staff and clients at all times. To maintain business integrity and enforce all rules and regulations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee and schedule daily operations at the facility including horse care, horse assignments, and staff scheduling.
- Facility maintenance, upkeep and repairs.
- Daily opening and closing of the facility.
- Horse care.
- Hay and shavings management.
- Farrier shoeing schedule for barn horses.
- Veterinary care as needed.
- Lesson program instructor / oversight of the head instructor.
- Staffing and scheduling oversight.
- Program oversight.
- Ring maintenance, equipment maintenance and scheduling.
- Purchasing and selling of horses.
- Lease program operations.
- Trailering of horses to designated locations.
- Event management – oversight and staffing.
- Customer outreach and satisfaction.
- Expense management and control.
- Safety protocols and compliance – staff horses and clients.
- Review monthly and annual numbers.
- Hiring and termination of staff – following correct HR guidelines
Compensation to be discussed after initial interview, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
