JOB SUMMARY:
The Per Diem Clinical Dietitian serves as the Food and Nutrition Services representative in patient care activities. These include but are not limited to assessing patients nutritional status, developing care plans, monitoring the nutritional status of the patients, counseling patients and/ or significant others on special nutritional requirements and consulting with other health care professionals as appropriate, The Clinical Dietitian is also responsible for providing professional guidance and education in nutritional management and diet education to physicians, allied health professionals, dietetic students, and entry-level dietitians. The clinical dietitian assists the clinical nutrition manager in matters relating to Quality Improvement, participates on hospital committees, and employee/ staff training. The clinical dietitian assists in supporting the highest possible patient satisfaction levels, program effectiveness and achievement of mutual department and hospital goals. The Clinical Dietitian reports to the Clinical Nutrition Manager and supervises diet office staff in the absence of the Clinical Nutrition Manager. The Clinical Dietitian performs other duties as assigned.
