What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Budgeting Analyst - NY HELPS position at New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF)?
Duties Description: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Report creation and modification: leverage Excel skills to create and modify financial reports
- Hyperion administrative application maintenance: successful candidates will receive training in advanced Hyperion administrative application maintenance duties. This training will equip the candidate with the necessary skills to manage and support the Hyperion platform, an essential tool for our financial planning and reporting processes
- Data analysis with Oracle Financials: a strong set of analytical skills is vital, as the candidate will be expected to utilize multiple data sets, including those from Oracle Financials, to conduct in-depth analyses
- Forecast and variance meetings: the candidate will host quarterly forecast and variance meetings with department heads. These sessions are critical for reviewing financial performance against budget and forecasts, allowing the candidate to facilitate discussions that drive accountability and strategic alignment across departmentsPreferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of working experience with Hyperion
- Financial planning and analysis background
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical skillsMinimum Qualifications: For Appointment to Senior Budgeting Analyst (SG18):
- Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR
- One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but aren’t limited to: Senior Administrative Analyst, Administrative Specialist 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, Policyholder Services Representative 1; OR
