  • JOB SUMMARY*The RN Site Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the work of their nursing staff, which typically includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). They also coordinate nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met. The RN Site Manager works collaboratively with providers and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the department in order to provide quality patient care and meet the goals and objectives established by the Newark Community Health Center.*Essential Duties/Responsibilities:*_Essential duties/responsibilities include the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:_* Ensures smooth flow of patients through the Health Center.* Orders and stocks medical and office supplies ensuring a sufficient inventory.* Oversees the timely and accurate reconciliation of clinical encounters and daily cash receipts.* Ensures completion of daily syringe count: tally sheets.* Ensures timely completion of all clinical logs and reports.* Completes and submits monthly reports to Director of Nursing.* Participates in various healthcare Collaboratives.* Triages patients for medical necessity.* Assists providers with examination and treatment while determining the nursing and health needs of patients.* Plans and provides nursing care for patients and performs a wide variety of treatments.* Educates and counsels patients and their families.* Ensures lab slips, x-rays, and diagnostic reports are on the chart at the time of patient visit.* Takes and records patients’ vital signs.* Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment.* Assembles and utilizes such equipment as oxygen suppliers, nebulizers, and EKGs.* Collects samples of body fluids for routine tests such as blood glucose and urine protein levels.* Sterilizes equipment and supplies.* Dresses wounds.* Administers vaccines, injections, oral medications, nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy under the providers’ orders.* Assists providers with procedures.* Monitors equipment.* Records all medications according to Regulatory Guidelines.* Assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing and Allied Services as necessary.* Audits charts for accuracy and appropriate documentation.*Additional Essential Job Functions:** Full-Time employment requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week* Ability to work on weekends (Saturdays or Sundays)* Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule* Overtime, and standby status may be required at times to meet operational and patient care needs* Ability to work at various sites (all site locations are in Essex County)*Supervisory Responsibilities:** Supervises all nursing staff including CMA, LPN's and Medical Clerks*Education and Experience:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and completion of an accredited nursing program as a registered nurse, RN (BSN or MSN preferred).* New Jersey license as a registered nurse.* Current CPR certification required.* A minimum 3 years of ambulatory care in an FQHC setting preferred.* Three to five of supervisory experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.* The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability and excellent skills to independently carry out assignments and nursing tasks; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, patient registries, and web-based tools and the use of an EHR; strong knowledge of medical terminology and relevant procedures; excellent written, electronic and oral communication skills; and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.* The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential. Oral and written proficiency in English is a must.* Bilingual capability in any language predominantly spoken by NCHC patients preferred.*As a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
