What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST position at NEWBERG SD 29J?
Description: Provide direct small group and individual instruction to identified speech/language students in pullout or inclusion placement (approx. caseload 45-50). Attend building SST meetings; make recommendations/suggestions regarding student needs and testing. Assess for speech/language needs following established district guidelines. Hold IEP meetings and complete all required paperwork for eligible and non-eligible students. Consult with staff for students who qualify for speech/language services. Provide 60 minutes/week one-on-one SLP tutoring on-line.
Requirements: Current State of Oregon Speech/Language Pathology License. Must display excellent attitude, strong desire for teamwork, put student needs first, highly organized, follow district procedures, and participate in PDU and other staff development activities at building and district level. Must demonstrate clear understanding of speech/language/voice/ dysfluency/hearing (dx/tx), understanding of testing process and how to organize, understanding of census and reporting requirements, knowledge of special education procedural requirements. Ability to conduct IEP meetings and write effective goals, work and communicate effectively individually and in a team with building level staff and outside agencies. Knowledge of technology and applications to instruction and IEP process. Compliance with OHA Mandate for COVID-19 vaccination upon hire.
Qualification Desired: CCC certification, CFY considered, bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred, variety of experiences working with students ages 5-12.
