JV SOFTBALL COACH
EFFECTIVE: 2023 Spring Sports Season
REPORTS T0: Head Coach/Athletic Director/Principal
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated success as a softball player and high school coaching experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated knowledge of softball rules and techniques and aptitude for the
following performance responsibilities:
1. Ability to promote school spirit and good sportsmanship; maintain team discipline; and generate enthusiasm within the team.
2. Work with Athletic Director to ensure that student-athletes meet all eligibility requirements.
3. Assist Athletic Director in scheduling of interscholastic contests.
4. Collaborate with same-season coaching staff to schedule facility and other related activities.
5. Hold a valid CPR / First Aid / AED certification or be willing to become certified.
6. Successfully completed the MIAA Coaches Education course.
7. Successfully completed the NFHS concussion certification class and ability to adhere to all school and state concussion policies.
8. Perform other related duties as determined by the Head Coach/Athletic Director and/or Principal.
9. Comply with all District policies and procedures as outlined in Coaches’ Handbook.
10. CORI and Fingerprint clearance required.
Coaches may be required to operate a van for the purpose of transporting students to and from athletic contests and practices.
Salary for this position is as per negotiated contract with the Newburyport School Committee and the Newburyport Teachers Association.
