What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessionals position at Newport City Schools?
ONE ON ONE AND SMALL GROUP PARA-EDUCATORS
All positions are for 6.5 hours a day. Previous experience preferred. Candidate must meet the district’s requirements of 48 college credits or para-educator certificate and portfolio; or successfully passing the Master Teacher tests.
Specific Position Requirements/Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work effectively within a team environment and a willingness to participate in training opportunities. Having a strong physical stamina, positive energetic attitude and a willingness and experience to work with students is a must. Preferred candidates for the one on one positions would have experience with effective behavior intervention, such as CPI.
Salary & Benefits: Salary will be based on experience and benefits are per the support staff collective agreement.
