Primary Scheduled Hours: 72 hours per pay period, 12 hour day shift (36 hours ED/36 hours Float pool)
Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff. Implements directions from the physicians and nursing staff. Handles clerical duties on nursing unit, including answering telephones, relaying messages, keeping records directing visitors, distributing mail, and transcribing physician orders. May assist in patient care and order supplies. May use CRT.

- 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility
- 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
Education Background and Experience
Minimum Education:
High school graduate of equivalent.
Nursing Assistant Certified
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Active NA-C license or Active NA-R license with EMT
Required Experience:
Medical terminology course required.
Nursing Assistant Certified experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year experience in an Emergency Department hospital preferred.

- Maintain regulatory requirements.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
- Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner
Essential Job Functions
- Logs all patients in the Urgent Care logbook.
- Obtains patient demographic and health insurance information; collects co-pay if appropriate.
- Assembles patient charts; retrieves patient charts if they are a return patient.
- Enters and verifies orders in the computer system. Documents the time orders were placed in the computer on the Urgent Care record.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers and physicians.
- Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
- Retrieves all lab results from the computer and brings to the attention of the charge nurse.
- Takes specimens to the laboratory.
Compensation/How We Care For You:
Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($21.80 - $25.68/hour) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
