What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Swim Instructor - Weekends position at Newtown Athletic Club?
Summary:
The NAC AQUATICS Program is looking for high energy swim instructors for our indoor program! The NAC Instructors are the face of the aquatics department, who focus on teaching the life skill of swimming at a high level and focus on client progression and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships, provide guidance and service to all members and clients.
- Learn and identify member's goals, educate how their expertise will help them, sell lesson services.
- Create unique exercise programs for each individual client based on their needs and likes.
- Help clients develop strong swim skills.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Complete PA Criminal History Background Check
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be an active person - "in water" type person preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with NAC standards.
- Experience preferred.
- Positive attitude and ability to work with young children and/or adults.
- Interested in broadening swimming skills and knowledge.
- Certifications preferred: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid, Lifeguard and WSI
- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
- Ability to lift equipment and to lift a small to average size child.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
Shifts: Saturdays and Sundays 9-12 required, availability until 2pm preferred.
After on-the-job training, Instructors are paid similarly to Personal Trainers, where you are paid a commission percentage of the revenue your Private and Group Lessons bring in. This promotes client retention, continued staff training, as well as the ability to make this job your main source of income without working a typical 9-5!

Pay: $14.00 - $60.00 per hour
