We are a thirty-seven-year-old Tyler, Texas based 501c3 nonprofit organization that works in the areas of substance abuse prevention and education, mental health counseling, professional development, and training. We are the largest provider of school-based mental health counseling services in northeast Texas.
We provide substance abuse prevention services through our two Community Coalition Partnerships covering 8 East Texas Counties in HHSC Region 4, and youth mental health counseling services on over 60 school campuses, and 9 juvenile probation locations, along with our Tyler, Texas office location. We serve 26 East Texas Counties in HHSC Regions 3, 4 and 5. In addition to counseling we train school staff in the areas of mental health, substance abuse prevention, and provide school-based suicide prevention services.
Our office is located at 305 South Broadway Avenue Ste 200 in Tyler, Texas.
General Description
We are looking for professional, enthusiastic, personable, experienced counselors to serve locations across Texas, .i.e., we serve locations including Waxahachie and Midlothian.
Looking for counselor to start immediately working 8 AM to 5 PM, 1-3 weekdays every week (set schedule).
Position may require travel to various locations, usually within 15 minute drive.

Primary Job Functions
Counselors provide therapy to youth clients presenting mental health, emotional or behavioral issues. MUST be a self-starter, able to work with little supervision, punctual at service locations and prompt with administrative reports.
Counselors must be excited about helping youth and the youth-serving professionals that work with us and our youth clients.
- Delivery of psychotherapeutic services:
- Screenings and diagnostic evaluations.
- Intake assessments.
- Crisis intervention and support.
- Service coordination.
- Psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Counseling.
- Skills training.
- Referrals.
- Delivery of adjunctive services, which include coordination with other providers/agencies, staffing, and serving as resource for other team members.
- Ensure planned services and supports are implemented and appropriately documented.
- Connect clients with appropriate services and supports, as needed.
- Document all meetings and notes pertaining to client's plans.
- Self-motivating, able to work independently.
- Professional acumen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of individuals, teams, and systems.
- Record data neatly, coherently, accurately, and objectively.
- Follow service implementation processes designed to meet the needs of people served and funding-source requirements.
- Emergency/Crisis Intervention skills.
- Ability to work proficiently with computers and electronic records.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Current active license in the State of Texas as one of the following:
- Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-Associate)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day.
- Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
- Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treat, and monitor client needs and maintain accurate records.
- Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate.
- The noise level may vary between low and mild.
