The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. Job Description:
- Assist in Development, Design, and Production Testing.
- Write testing reports.
- Coordinate testing part flow through product labs.
- Assist in the development of tear down procedures.
- Support lab technicians as required by test requirements.
- Assist controls team with software development of new machines.
Special Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to read electrical prints
- Oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Basic trouble shooting skills
Job Requirements:
- Studying Mechanical Engineering at Saginaw Valley or U of M Flint
- Must have a 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Must have the ability to work 20-28 hours per week during the Fall and Winter semesters

- Must be a full-time student (12 credit hours or more)
