Youth Care Professional - Nexus-PATH Treatment Foster Care

Nexus-PATH has an exciting opportunity available for YCP - Youth Care Professionals in our Fargo, ND Treatment Foster Care program. We are looking to hire a full-time position to be scheduled to provide YCP services in a Nexus-PATH foster home.
Our Youth Care Professional's primary responsibility is to support and reinforce the therapeutic treatment plan of clients by providing guidance and direction to clients in their daily living activities.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provides mentorship and supervision of client daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Ensures that clients adhere to daily schedules and activities established for them, including school, therapy sessions, external appointments, etc.
- Ensures that clients comply with required activities surrounding personal hygiene and grooming, upkeep of living areas, laundry, etc.
- Serves as a mentor and role model by demonstrating compassion and understanding for feelings, opinions and experiences of others, and communicating and interacting in a manner that is honest, positive, respectful and professional.
- Demonstrates an acceptance and respectfulness toward diversity concerning commonalities and differences such as gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability and gender identity.
- Administers medications per established protocols and generate related recording requirements accurately.
- Participate with coworkers as a team on implementation of treatment plans and therapeutic services.
- Remains cognizant of individual client levels, privileges, and restrictions and adapt interactions accordingly.
- Engage in therapeutic interventions with clients within treatment parameters, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Reports to supervisor signs and symptoms potentially requiring intervention or referral (suicidal or violent tendencies, self-mutilation, eating disorders, etc.).
- Complies with all documentation and standards including, but not limited to, critical incident reporting.
- Attends staff meetings as requested and actively participate.
- Ensures client safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic.
- Ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Performs First Aid/CPR procedures and respond according to established protocols in the event of emergency situations.
- Maintains appropriate boundaries in all interaction and contact with clients.
- Complies with Nexus and affiliate policies involving privacy and confidentiality for clients and their families.
- Plans and participates in client activities and assist in the transportation of client for home visits, doctor appointments, planned recreational activities, etc
- Remains current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements.
- All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Fingerprint based Background check is required
- Must be 21 years of age
Work Environment:
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, crouch, twist, bend, and reach overhead, maneuver stairs, and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities for a social worker visiting clients in their homes.
- Repetitive use of hands and wrists is required for writing, typing, and/or data entry.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
- Travel may be required.
