What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Youth Counselor position at NFI Massachusetts, Inc.?
NFI Massachusetts Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our residential youth program in Haverhill, MA. We have full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities for Residential Youth Counselors/Direct Care Staff who will provide essential support and supervision to youth in our transitional age youth program.
The program works with youth referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) ages 17-22 who have social, emotional, mental health, and behavioral challenges, with histories of complex trauma.
The therapeutic milieu is designed to support youth emotionally, educationally, vocationally, and socially to achieve independence and successfully move into the community as successful adults.
As a Residential Youth Counselor/Direct Care Staff, you will:
- Guide and mentor youth in developing critical life skills, social and interpersonal abilities, and positive community engagement.
- Serve as a positive role model, helping youth make healthier choices and prepare for a successful transition after leaving the program.
- Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages growth, learning, and resilience.

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hour
Overtime opportunities available.
Residential Counselors/Direct Care Staff are responsible for:
- Day to day operations of the milieu.
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Supervision of residents.
- Crisis intervention if needed.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with adolescent population preferred.

- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license.
