Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to oversee the development and implementation of our organization's safety protocols. This role is critical to ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and adhering to relevant regulations. The Safety Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining safety procedures, conducting regular safety inspections, and providing training to employees. This position requires a strong background in safety and a commitment to maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and orientation to employees on safety procedures, including CPR and first aid.
- Investigate and document all workplace accidents and incidents, conducting root cause analysis to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Develop and maintain incident reports and ensure that all incidents are properly reported to management and regulatory agencies.
- Manage and coordinate the organization's workers' compensation program.
- Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
- Review and update safety policies and procedures as needed to ensure they remain effective and compliant with relevant regulations.
Requirements:
- College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in a construction environment.
- Experience in training development and delivery.
- Certification in CPR and first aid.
- Experience with workers' compensation and EHS programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Experience with report writing and the ability to document workplace incidents and accidents effectively.
