Nightforce Optics is growing and we are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our amazing QC team. The QC Inspector will be performing visual and physical inspections of materials, parts, and component assemblies used in the manufacturing of optics and related machined components, with an emphasis on creating and executing inspection plans. This position will use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and vision systems.
What you will be doing: Essential Job Duties
- Perform complete visual inspection of internally and externally manufactured parts for workmanship, dimensional conformance and tolerances using a variety of instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gages, fixed gaging (gage pins, etc.), CMM, and optical equipment
- Set up and use CMM and vision systems as required
- Create inspection plans for machined components and incoming goods
- Record results of measurement activities
- Communicate and resolve issues found with appropriate personnel, including Quality Department, Machine Shop, R&D, Production and Materials personnel
- Communicate proposed dimension and tolerance changes with the Engineering Group
- Provide training for use and care of inspection equipment for other personnel
- Provide training to production personnel on product inspection methods
- All other duties, as assigned
What we need from you: Required Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must have strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and comprehend safety guidelines and other written procedures
- Must be able to follow all safety procedures and chemical use guidelines
- Must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat/kneel, stand and walk for extended periods of time, including the frequent use of stairs
- Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude and proficient math skills
- Must have experience in reading and analyzing 2D prints
- Must have a good working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to keep accurate records
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
What we would love to see: Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years' experience in a similar role, required
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in machining or working in a machine shop environment, operating and/or programming a CMM or vision inspection equipment; an educational background in CAD/CAM or Engineering would be considered a plus
- Proficient in part measuring methods, including use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other equipment

Salary : $31,300 - $39,600
