Beginning 2019-20 School Year
Starting Rate: $13.28 per hour / 41 weeks per year
Group II
Qualifications: Minimum high school education, with emphasis on clerical skills, particularly via the computer.
Ability to operate and maintain common office equipment.
Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents in person and on the telephone.
Successful completion of the appropriate level of secretarial examination.
Supervisors: Building Principals - Jeron Blood & Adam Burtsfield
Performance responsibilities: (non-prioritized)
- Enroll new students, including gathering all necessary information and establishing a CA-60 file.
- File any and all reports regarding students into their CA-60s.
- Issue bus passes and tardy slips to students as needed.
- Contact student's parents to report student accidents.
- Oversee the completion of student incident reports.
- Collect and mail as needed report cards and parent newsletters for parents requesting such information.
- Administer student first aid as necessary and call parents when students need to go home as a result of a sickness.
- Assist substitute teachers as needed.
- Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner and take/forward messages as needed.
- Greet and assist visitors to the office, always providing friendly customer service.
- Assist the other office secretaries as needed.
- Comply with all school district policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all student affairs.
- Other duties as assigned by Building Principals, Central Office Administration, and/or Superintendent of Schools.
Must be able to be bonded.
