As the Mechanical Engineering & Design Manager you will be responsible for the leadership and management of a team of skilled mechanical engineers, and design personnel, driving R&D prototyping and commercial equipment production to meet the expanding needs of the radioisotopes business. You will drive results and team reputation through collaborative project management methodologies, strong technical review and decision making processes, role modeling the desired behaviors, and leading production efficiency in our machine design and fabrication teams.

What You Need To Succeed…
- B.S. degree in Engineering. Facilities Management or related field.
- 10 years progressive positions in engineering management in a highly regulated environment.
- 5 years’ experience in providing full managerial experience in the day-to-day activities of engineers and designers, including mentoring and career development.
- API pharmaceutical facility design experience and understanding of requirements.

- Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization – appreciates the history of the current state, knows how and when to make suggestions, as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state.
- Understands your own communication and learning styles, can assess others’ styles, and is able to find the right path to connect the two.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Well-versed in general safety, lift safety, lock-out tag-out, and forklift safety.
- Experience with Solid Works, Auto CAD, project management software (smartsheet, MS Project, etc) and work planning tools
- Knowledge of NRC and cGMP regulations
- Experience with one or more of the following is required: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Vision Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Robotics, Maximo or other maintenance management software
- Masters degree in Engineering or Business Administration,
- Experience with Accelerator and Radiopharmaceutical systems
- Knowledge/Experience with the following: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Vision Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Robotics, Maximo or other maintenance management software
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/TPM/Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience in the Incident Command Protocol System
- CPR/AED certification
- Full-time position.
- The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a – 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts.
- This position will have regular working hours during M – F with an expectation of adjusting to working outside of the standard operating hours as assigned.
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
