Niyam is seeking GIS Analyst to join our team in support of our work with FEMA. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. Position currently allows remote work but may require on-site work when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Role and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for incoming GIS data validation, GIS data transformation, data extraction, and data incorporation
- Review map products and data from various partner sources
- You will assist in the automation of the data management process and in creating and enhancing efficient spatial data workflows by developing mapping tools, modeling, spatial views, and Python scripting within ArcGIS Desktop
- You will participate in key meetings with FEMA to ensure quality data and products provided, align with the needs of FEMA
- You will be responsible for resolving all data management requests and providing support in metadata correction and validation to meet the standards specified by FEMAList number 2
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proof of US Citizenship and eligibility to apply for a Public Trust Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science, or related field
- 1-5 years of Experience with GIS data and analysis
- Working knowledge of GIS data editing, modeling, spatial views, raster data and analysis, and Python scripting within ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server
- Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keen diagnostic and analytical mindset
- Good interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with federal clients
- Experience with machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI), deep learning, and/or Tensor Flow
