Enable next generation diode development and element packaging through the hands-on development of manufacturing processes and support transition from concept to high volume manufacturing. Help develop process automation and concept verification in fast moving environment. Effect continuous improvement activities related to released products, support Production and Ramp as appropriate and coordinate effectively with a wide range of cross functional groups.
Functions
- Reporting to Engineering, develop and test improved processes in support of new product introduction and efficiency improvement targets.
- Help Engineering sustain current production line and assist in transition to new automated line.
- Assist Operation Techs in improving processes and help increase yield across line
- Work collaboratively with process engineering to manage specific processes, and assist in defining and executing continuous process improvements
- Attention to detail and subtle changes in process or test and documenting those observations
- Assist Process Engineering in driving processes from early-stage development to a manufacturable process.
- Help define, and then execute routine process equipment maintenance
- Act as first line of defense in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, routine data collection and effective communication of status and solutions
- Assist with the training and certification of Production Personnel
- Support implementation of process and BOM changes on the line
- Formal documentation of procedures and work instructions by ECO
- Identify potential safety hazards in manufacturing stations and processes and drive solutions to them
- Lead by example in eliminating Process Engineering from Production’s critical path
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities utilizing PFMEA, and a wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R), lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts
Qualifications
- 5 years of professional work experience in volume Production environment working with electronics, semiconductor equipment or opto-mechanical assemblies
- Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies is preferable
- Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized and self-motivated
- Experience in supporting process development of components, Optics alignment, Bonding, Reflow, and assembly processes
- Experience in sub-systems, fibers, precision optical/electro-mechanical assemblies
- Strong record of problem solving, implementing robust processes and systems
- Experience with new product introduction and product lifecycle process
- Experience with mechanical drawings, basic tooling and fixture design
- Knowledge and understanding of optics, fibers, laser diodes and test equipment is highly preferred
