Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, PICUs, geriatrics, clinics, outpatient facilities, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, teaching hospitals, and operating rooms. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting with daily activities and medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Help with mobility assistance and transfers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to various settings such as emergency medicine and geriatrics is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
