What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Assembler position at Nolting Manufacturing?

About Nolting: At Nolting, we’re not just building machines – we’re building a legacy. For 50 years, our longarm quilting machines have empowered quilters to turn their creative dreams into reality. As a proud small business, we pride ourselves on quality, craftsmanship, and putting our employees at the heart of everything we do. We are now seeking an enthusiastic Machine Assembler to join our skilled team and be part of a fast-paced, precision-driven environment where your attention to detail will make all the difference. As a Machine Assembler, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand tools to assemble components accurately.

Why Nolting? This isn't just another job – it's a chance to work on cutting-edge technology, contribute to a close-knit team, and create products that truly make an impact. If you’re driven by the mechanics of how things work, have an eye for detail, and take pride in precision, this is the perfect fit for you. Ready to get your hands on some high-quality craftsmanship? Let’s talk!

What You'll Do:

  • Assemble and Test Machines: You’ll be assembling high-quality, top-of-the-line quilting machines and ensuring that each unit is fully functional and ready to ship to our customers.
  • Repair and Maintain: You’ll assess and repair returned machines or used equipment, ensuring every piece is restored to perfection for future use.
  • Hands-On Work: You’ll be using your hands and basic tools like drills, tape measures, and taps – plus some soldering – to make sure everything fits and works just right.
  • Collaborate with the Team: As part of the Nolting crew, you’ll work with like-minded, skilled professionals who are all focused on the same goal – building excellence and pushing the envelope.
  • Document Your Success: Complete all necessary paperwork for testing, repairs, and shipments, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
  • Keep Things Efficient: You’ll help keep the workspace organized and help drive efficiency to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Mechanical Know-How: You’ve got a solid understanding of mechanical assembly and love working with your hands.
  • Attention to Detail: You’re someone who notices the little things, ensuring the highest quality in everything you do.
  • Tool Skills: You can confidently work with basic hand tools like drills, tape measures, and taps. If you know soldering, that’s a plus!
  • Physical Stamina: Able to lift up to 50 lbs – because we know nothing great is built without some elbow grease.
  • Team Spirit: While you’re great working on your own, you also thrive as part of a team where everyone pulls together to get the job done right.
  • Bonus: Experience with sewing machines is a plus, but not mandatory. We’re more interested in your drive and attention to detail.

Perks of Working at Nolting:

  • Great Benefits: Including 401(k) with matching, health, dental, life, and vision insurance, plus paid time off.
  • A Fun, Collaborative Team: Join a team that values hard work, skill, and a job well done – and that’s always ready to celebrate the wins together.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a regular 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
