The Material Handler will work within Nomad’s campus, moving, handling, and storing various materials for projects. The Handler will regularly be on their feet loading and unloading inventory, supplies, and other materials as necessary from various locations onsite. The Handler will serve as a point of contact within the Supply Chain Department with other divisions and departments at Nomad in order to fulfill material counts and inventory-related duties.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
- Promote and participate in a safe working environment.
- Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
- Operation of a forklift for loading and offloading materials as well as transfer around the campus.
- Labeling every product and placing them accordingly.
- Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process.
- Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory.
- Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.
- Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply.
- Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.
- Returning product to stock from jobs in a timely manner.
- Receiving various parts and products ordered by Nomad.
- Find part numbers on items that come back from the Production floor.
- Cycle counting.
- Running received parts to various departments on the Nomad campus.
- Organization and maintenance of inventory storage.
- Pulling job requirements from online sources.
- Research and communicate the status of orders to organization members.
- Update electronic records.
- Track shipments and document records.
- Link the Purchasing Department with other internal departments.
- Maintain verbal and written communication with internal and external customers regarding orders via e-mail, telephone, and in person.
- Maintain ERP database reliability.
- Maintain records retention using electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
- Perform data entry, faxing, scanning, telephone conversations, and other duties as requested, clerical, and non-clerical.
- Additional duties as requested.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
- Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and displays a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.
- Have the capability of being able to correctly enter data into computer systems as well as keep the same information correctly documented and filed on paper.
- Have the ability to manage one’s own time around others’ schedules as well as completing all the tasks at hand you need to be done in an efficient priority order.
- Knowledge of operating warehouse machinery, including forklifts, or a demonstrated desire to learn.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Employee will routinely lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. (If item is 50 pounds or heavier, a two-person assist is required).
Working Environment:
- Outdoor, fast-paced warehouse environment floor layout with open-concept office area, interacts regularly with the Production floor.
- All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.
- Team members are subjected to noise levels which may range from moderately loud to loud. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if needed.
- Some exposure to strong odors and fumes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Graduate, diploma or GED received. College preferred.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
- 45-50 WPM typing, with 10-Key
- Previous experience with forklift operation preferable.
- Previous experience with material handling preferable.
