Quality Supervisor

Position Summary:

Support and enhance the quality assurance processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of AS9100 and IATF certifications, along with proven experience in supporting teams of quality engineers and lab technicians. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability while driving process improvements.

Responsibility / Duties:

- Quality Assurance Management

o Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems in accordance with AS9100 and IATF standards.

o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

o Monitor key quality metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.

- Team Support

o Collaborate with and support a team of quality engineers and lab technicians.

o Provide guidance and assistance to ensure the team meets their objectives and deadlines.

o Assist in conducting performance evaluations and identifying opportunities for skills development and training.

- Process Improvement:

o Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the quality assurance department.

o Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and non-conformities.

o Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence throughout the organization.

- Supplier Quality Management:

o Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure supplier quality standards are met.

o Assist in conducting supplier audits and assessments to evaluate performance and capability.

o Support the establishment and maintenance of effective supplier quality management processes.

- Testing and Inspection:

o Oversee testing and inspection activities using tools such as coordinate measuring machines and tensile testers.

o Ensure testing procedures are conducted accurately and efficiently, and results are documented appropriately.

o Review and analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

- Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality management systems, processes, and procedures.

o Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.

o Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive resolution.

Reporting Responsibilities: This position reports to the Quality Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, Quality Techs (2)

Education and/or Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is highly desirable.

Qualification/Other Requirements:

- Extensive knowledge and experience with AS9100 and IATF quality management systems.

- Proven experience in managing teams of quality engineers and lab technicians.

- Proficiency in using quality assurance tools and equipment, such as coordinate measuring machines and tensile testers.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive process improvements.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Experience with layered process audits is a significant advantage.

- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.

Physical Requirements:

- Work performed in office and factory settings.

- Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.

- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.

- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
