What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthopedic Clinic Assistant - Ortho Central position at Norman Regional Health System?
From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, Ortho Central is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes seven orthopedic surgeons, two sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and workers' compensation specialists.
Ortho Central has three convenient locations in central Oklahoma: Midwest City, Tri City, YFAC and our office in Norman.
Our skilled providers can evaluate and treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery.
Job Summary
- Provides care to patients of all ages and assistance to physicains and advance practitioners in high volume orthopedic clinics located throughout the south metro area.
- Responsibilities include clinic preparation,screening and rooming patients.
- Position receives direct supervision from physician, advanced practitioner, clinical manager and clinic supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience
- Minimum one year experience in a clinical or physician office setting, emergency room, and/or a hospital setting that provides direct patient care with preference given to orthopedic clinic experience.
- Excellent communication skills including phone calls, referrrals and electronic records are also required.

Licensure/Ceritification
- CNA or RMA preferred
Compensation/Benefits
- $16.72-$27.30/hr depending on previous work experience.
