Registered Clinical Dietitian

• Provides initial nutrition assessment of patient condition.
• Provides ongoing reassessment and follow up care.
• Provides nutrition education services for patient and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Any program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that leads to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
• Basic knowledge of subspecialty area including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc.
• Must obtain approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits per calendar year. Keep current of new findings/research.

Experience:

• Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license must be achieved within the first 6 months of employment.
• Must obtain a food handler's permit from the Cleveland County Health department before hire (or within 1 week of hire).

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to use decision making skills to make rational & quick decisions regarding prioritizing of patient care.
• Have the foresight to recognize unsafe work conditions and/or practices.
• The ability to safely use chemicals and equipment for the patients, visitors and staff.
• Knowledge base for use of different formula's when assessing patient's nutritional needs.
