Job Summary: The Registered Clinical Dietitian provides initial nutrition assessments and ongoing care to patients, ensuring they receive appropriate dietary education.

- Provides initial nutrition assessment of patient condition.
- Provides ongoing reassessment and follow up care.
- Provides nutrition education services for patient and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Any program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that leads to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
- Basic knowledge of subspecialty area including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc.
- Must obtain approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits per calendar year. Keep current of new findings/research.
Experience:
- Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license must be achieved within the first 6 months of employment.
- Must obtain a food handler's permit from the Cleveland County Health department before hire (or within 1 week of hire).
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to use decision making skills to make rational & quick decisions regarding prioritizing of patient care.
- Have the foresight to recognize unsafe work conditions and/or practices.
- The ability to safely use chemicals and equipment for the patients, visitors and staff.
- Knowledge base for use of different formula's when assessing patient's nutritional needs.
